All Newton Music School
Founded in 1911, the All Newton Music School (ANMS) has served the greater Boston community as a valuable cultural resource for everyone interested in music lessons, classes and concerts. ANMS provides quality musical instruction on all musical instruments and classes in appreciation, education, musical theatre, movement and more, for young children through adults. Alumni include orchestral musicians, soloists and chamber players as well as life-long advocates. Pianist Andrew Wolf served as director for eight years and his impact on the School was so great, the Benefit Concert Series is named in his honor. Director Paulette Bowes is noted for her innovative programming and the new courses she has established. The programs at ANMS are diverse. They include a music certificate program, private lessons, music therapy, ensembles and orchestras (rock, jazz and strings), chamber music for children and adults, new winds octet, piano workshops, voice classes, music theory, choral music, a summer creative arts program, and much more. Series with many prominent performers, such as Fenwick Smith, Andrew pierce, Sally Pinkas, Victor Rosenbaum, Lucia Lin and Owen Young. The public is cordially invited to the ANMS annual all day music festival each spring "Music in May".
