The New Philharmonia Orchestra (NPO) is a critically acclaimed non-professional symphony orchestra presenting more than a dozen performances each year. Under the direction of Music Director Ronald Knudsen, a 35 year Boston Symphony veteran, the orchestra seeks to enrich the lives of families, school children, senior citizens, and young people with treasures from the classical and light classical repertoire. The NPO prides itself on the high level of performance of their volunteer membership. The season consists of six Classics Series performances, 3 Family Concerts, outreach programs and two Pops programs. The NPO motto, Music for All says it best - performances of high quality and easily accessible - providing the community with wonderful and well-played music close to home at reasonable prices.
