The Newton Choral Society, under the leadership of Music Director, Mr. David Carrier, is a premier metropolitan chorus consisting of approximately 100 auditioned mixed voices from Newton and surrounding communities. In existence for more than 25 years, the Newton Choral Society provides a broad repertoire of music to audiences of all ages. Its music ranges from classical favorites such as the Bach B-Minor Mass to works by contemporary composers. Each year a three concert series is performed in November, March and May.

While the Newton Choral Society pays tribute to Newton, its city of origin, it has also taken its music-making well beyond geographical boundaries (Jordan Hall, Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall, Sanders Theater, etc.)  It has joined with both of Newton's symphony orchestras, participating in major musical events in Newton, and has been invited to sing with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, the Boston POPS Orchestra and the Civic Symphony of Boston. The Newton Choral Society prides itself in reaching out to the elderly, performing in local nursing homes during the holiday season, and providing master classes for aspiring teenage vocalists.
